Keane Environmental Ltd, the leading supplier of commercial, sustainable and energy efficient HVAC solutions, supplied Diffusion fan coil units to the recently redeveloped Bank Centre site in Ballsbridge, Dublin. This site was redesigned to be a sate-of-the-art-work environment and one of the most sustainable workplaces in Europe.
Keane Environmental selected Diffusions Slimline Highline 170 EC/DC ceiling mounted fan coil units for the Bank Centre, as these units are very slim, enabling them to maximise the use of the floor to ceiling space for other purposes. The Slimline Highline 170 EC/DC was designed with aesthetics in mind, this fan coil unit is the perfect fit for buildings with an industrial look as they can be ceiling exposed as well as ceiling concealed, providing a thermal environment for the occupants. The industrial style of the Bank Centre meant the customer wanted the exposed look making the Diffusion fan coil units ideal for this project. The fan coil units heat exchangers are designed to achieve optimum heating and cooling performance in order to regulate the room to the occupants desired temperature.
To meet the requirements of this project, Keane Environmental worked closely with stakeholders from BKD Architects who designed the project; along with consulting engineers, Baker O’Reilly; Contractors, Temec Ltd.; with Construction by Walls Construction.
Sustainability is a key factor when specifying fan coil units, including the Bank Centre project. The Slimline fan coil is fitted with high efficiency EC/DC motors, offering specific fan powers (SFP) between 0.19 – 0.43 W/I/s/. The numerous models within the Highline range enable performance selections ranging from NR25 to NR40, and air volumes up to 700 I/s. Keane Environmental opted to supply the fan coil rang with Diffusions lifetime ‘Eco’ wire mesh filter, an environmentally friendly filter that can be removed, vacuumed and put back in the unit to ensure it functions effectively for the entire duration of the fan coil life span. This avoids using synthetic filters that contribute to landfill, making the lifetime ‘Eco’ filter a significant sustainability benefit.
Diffusions range of energy efficient fan coils are designed with sustainability in mind, they are used to effectively control the temperature in each individual area of the building while offering low noise volume and comfort.
